Do you know what its like to be lonely? 

To be truly, deeply lonely? I don't mean alone. 

I mean standing in a room full of people you are supposed to love and feeling no connection. 

Feeling emptiness where empathy should be. 

Loneliness is gut-wrenching. It is waiting for a message you won't recieve, 

a phone that will not ring, invitations that won't be given.

It is finding connection to a book, a tree, a kitten, but not a human. 

It is vulnerability and self-loathing, it is the inability to be with anyone but yourself, and hating it.

Loneliness is a disease, don't forget that. And sometimes there isn't a cure. Some of us are destined to walk this planet alone.
